A labour of love has come to fruition! Inspired by the beauty of the stained glass windows at St Mary's and the messaging conveyed through them, our own Elizabeth Laugharne has set out to document their artistry and symbolism for us all. Her new book, Messages in Glass: The stained-glass art of St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church of Oak Bay, Victoria is now hot off the press and in our hands!
Messages in Glass features the photography of our own Rev'd Richard Pook, background and detail articles by the author, and a forward by former Rector of St Mary's, the Rev'd John Macquarrie.
Read more about the Messages in Glass book project in the May 2012 issue of the Diocesan Post. and watch this great CHEK 6 Upside segment featuring Liz and her book.
Proceeds from the sale of the book, and the further donations it inspires, will be used for the ongoing maintenance and repair of these magnificent windows.

The cost is $25, or you can donate more to St Mary's Windows Preservation Fund—donations in excess of the basic $25 cost of the book are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
